When Mike tries to stop a bank robbery things go badly and he ends up being a hostage himself. Mike figures out that the robbers have more on their mind than grab the money and run. They are overly interested in one of the hostages and her husband's safety deposit box. Mike is unable to communicate with KITT and works on enlisting the hostages to help capture the robbers.

Ok, I think they're begining to strain the "Knight" in episode titles thing.

This is the first episode with the new format. And a hostage situation in a bank? That screams "budget cut" right there.

Good question. As far as I know, Ford is not making the 2010 Shelby GT500KR (they are making the GT500 though). So if they do "upgrade" KITT, it will be a "lesser" Mustang; Not that the 500HP 2010 Shelby GT500 should be considered "lesser".

I've got a channel called "Retro Television network" and Knight TOS is airing at the same time

It looks like FLAG's reactivation is being saved for the season finale, with episode thirteen being held back and several episodes following it airing out of order. Next week's episode is "Exit Light, Enter Knight", which according to most sources was the originally intended season finale

Either NBC have fucked up thinking the standalone format applies to every episode beyond this week's instalment, or we might be in for a surprise followed by a piss-poor resolution tacked on to a standalone that follows it (something similar occured with Sliders)

Was that a pool table in the background? Their base of operations looks like a mess, like it was set up by rowdy college kids. With 250+ million, they could do better.

As for the retooling, it looks like this show has done a better job of it than most other shows have in the past. Look what they did with seaQuest, Baywatch Nights, Martial Law and Earth: Final Conflict. We got none of that with Knight Rider.

The original had 4 seasons of "Knight" related titles. They're not going to run out anytime soon

By having KITT talk, make decisions and act without Mike, KITT really feels like a separate and unique character compared to previous episodes. I like it!
