It's too bad with the news that they're canning the extra cast since I thought it seemed like they finally figured out how to make them work, even Sydney Poitier
You do know that the show was cancelled, right?

Yes, I guess it depends if the retooling came into effect before or after they decided to cancel it altogether. In other words, will we see it in the episodes remaining or not.

However, is there some question though as to if it was cancelled? I seem to recall them mentioning something about the next season on a promo or something.

^^ I don't know that Torres is supposed to actually be anything more than that, I'm not sure TPTB want us to be more invested in him, sometimes you just need a good stuffed shirt to move things along. The alternative is a show like Torchwood where you wonder how these fuck-ups manage to get anything done without someone above keeping things in check.

Was anyone else hoping that this episode would lead into the "retooling" by having the self-destruct actually go off and killing half the cast?

I was hoping it would really blow up so that they wouldn't rely on the headquarters so much, get back to the more "lone man" and his car aspect of the show.

The thing is, we're not supposed to like Torres. His character has already been explained as having been partly responsible for Mike's missing memories and he knows something about KARR. The character may not even survive the reboot. Granted, if they had made him super lovable and THEN he turned out to be a rat bastard it might have been interesting, but that story direction can risk being cheesy as well.

Crap. I missed it. Is there someplace I can watch it online? (Legally.)

I think they were re-running episodes on the weekends for a while. Are they still doing that?

^^ Try NBC.com

I should upgrade my vote to "Average" since KITT didn't transform into another car (i.e. Van, pickup, 4-door sedan)

I'm lucky I was doing a check on my DVR to see how much room I had left, otherwise I wouldn't have known this episode had aired. What a terrible night to air a new episode. Didn't I read somewhere that this episode was supposed to be fairly close to the beginning of the series but got moved? If so, they probably did it for the KARR reference, which ties in with a few episodes ago and when KARR shows up this month.

And Jesus, Deanna Russo is hot.
I watched it with my gf for the first time last night, and as soon as Deanna appeared on the scene she said "Wow, there's something REALLY striking about her!" I just thought to myself "Hells yeah!".
I finally saw the episode last night and was thinking the same thing. Deanna Russo's radiant beauty and sexiness really stood out in a way that it hasn't in previous episodes.
