The Kovat Class was built for the most honored houses of the empire, though her service was short lived because of power drain issues she is still revered as one of the greatest warships created by the Empire! Pre TNG

While in weapons mode she couldn't go to warp, she had to power down most of the weapons and wait for the warp core to charge enough to make a jump to warp speed, constant power issues as she was over gunned and under powered for a ship of her size, though Da'Har masters such as Kang and Ko'loth revered this ship and told many stories and sung many a song of their victories with it!

Nice design! I think it could be a precursor to the later (and much larger, I suspect) Negh'Var? - The shape of the "wings" and those support cable thingies lend themselves to the latter ship.
I really like your lighting, too - the flashes of bright light reflecting off the hull make it seem like it's not too far from a star or something. I liked this with your March Art Challenge Saladin-class reimagining, as well.
