KLINGON AWARENESS WEEK
A Star Trek Online (game) Community Event between April 1-7, 2012
During the first week of April 2012, players of Cryptic Studios/Perfect World's "Star Trek Online" (STO) game are invited an in-game KLINGON event!
The "Klingon Awareness Week" activities include community sponsored Klingon PvP (Player vs. Player) combat play; player-authored Foundry missions; fleet actions; participation in joint mission play; and much more!
Forum discussions, event calendars, downloadable guide books, mission recommendations and reviews, plus podcasts and videos, will be available for this Klingon-centric event. Additional information can be found on GatesofStovokor.com and StarbaseUGC.com

IMPORTANT: All new players within STO begin as Federation characters. Players will be able to create a Klingon character after they unlock the first sector block of Federation content. (Level 25 or higher. Average time: about five hours into the game. Their Klingon character will begin at a rank approximately equal to the Federation character that unlocked the content.) To participate in Klingon Awareness Week, you need to be logged in as a Klingon player.

In 2012, the game went from purely subscription based, to free-to-play (F2P).
