Kirk Promo Picture Question

I thought it would be easy to find, but for the life of me, I can't seem to dig it up.

Are you guys familiar with (of course you are, duh, but polite not to assume!) the promotional picture of Kirk aiming a phaser up at the camera? A book I saw that came out (a Doctor WHO novel based on the Brigadier) had the lead character posed in a very similar way to Kirk in that photo and I wanted to share that with people.

BUT I CAN'T FIND IT! Help me, TrekBBS, you're my only hope! (NOTE: I am not a princess.)

Do mean the three-shot of Kirk, Spock, and Scotty in front of the Engineering pipes, holding type II hand phasers?

Edit: I also have him pointing the phaser rifle, and one in the Transporter chamber where he's looking up at the camera and pointing a phaser II.

Heh, pretty much looks like the artist who did the cover pretty much traced the Kirk promotional shot.

The face also looks more like James Doohan than Nicholas Courtney.

Ya, that’s a tracing. Down to the Brig having a weird collar on his jumper and a slightly odd gun even. It does look enough like Courtney for me.

Given that the lower half of the photo (including the font) seem to be Trek themed, I can only assume that the choice of source material is deliberate.

yeah, it’s obvious that the Brigadier is wearing a pilot episode Starfleet tunic and holding a phaser. The gal at the bottom is also wearing a 2009 movie dress. It really seems to be a Trek drawing barely repurposed for Doctor Who.

I’m also pretty sure I’ve seen that mini-dressed gal on John Eaves old blog, he used to post some semi-questionable beefcake shots from time to time. So that element of the drawing was also traced.

Not gonna lie, I didn't even notice the girl in the 2009 uniform. And that's Spock's scanner behind her! It looks like they just googled Star Trek and used whatever came up.

I mean, IDW do that in official Trek comics but at least they're meant to be making Trek

Who remembers the Companions of Doctor Who book that had the STIII spacedock on the cover?

When I first saw this I thought that was Scotty on the cover. You know between TOS and TMP.
