Kings of Leon - Only by the Night - Thoughts?

So a few days ago, I got around to buying the latest CD from this American band. I loved last year's "Because of the Times", so it would be interesting to see where the band went from that. When I first heard the single "Sex on Fire" ... I thought it was a little different. But few more listens to that song, and other songs like Use Somebody, Closer and Crawl. Well thoughts changed.

And then listened to the whole Album. Damn good. Hopefully this band will continue get better, as they have release two really last good albums.

Also good to see it selling well (except in their homeland )

Yeah well, I really can't hear that single anymore, they've been playing it up and down on Radio 1 the past month or so.... but it's good, this song. Maybe I'll give the album a chance if my budget allows it.

I didn't even realise they're Americans.

I downloaded it after they appeared on SNL, it's okay. I need to listen to it a lot more, though.

It's huge. Been listening to it almost non stop since they played on Jules Holland a few weeks ago, where both songs sounded just epic

This is a great album, but the songs just go stratospheric when played live with the lead singers voice just, well, screw-the-pun, soaring. It's an album which i feel the songs just ignite when done live.

Both Sex on Fire and Use Somebody are great studio tracks, but on that live Jules Holland... wiped out Metallica who were playing on the same episode - playing Enter Sandman to boot. LMAO.

Not typical Leon, but a top ten rock album of the year for me.
