The outfits came first - the creeps (and me when I was in middle school) getting turned on by girls wearing them came second. The outfits were originally innocent.

Seriously though, I see what you mean, but it doesn't really seem all that different when the Harry Potter kids were that age.

Yeah...because a school-girl outfit on a girl that would actually wear one is a terrible thing!

Regardless, school-girl outfits have been "sexualized" and it's a bit uncomfortable putting a 12-year-old girl in one.

I'm adult, and sane, enough to not sexualize this girl but that doesn't mean I still don't see the oddity in it.
