"Kick Ass"

I've never heard of this until tonight (not a comic reader) - but now I totally want to see it...

Note: The first two trailers are PG ones...the rest of them...*DEFINITELY NSFW*...

"I am Hit Girl"...

Nick Cage and his daughter share a touching father-daughter teaching moment...

Kick-Ass is one of my most anticipated films of this year. Everything new I see about it just looks even more and more unbelievably fantastic. It definitely blows Iron Man 2 out of the water as my most anticipated comic-book movie of the year.

The Hit-Girl specific trailer (as well as the Nick Cage one) sold me on this movie long ago.

Yeah, the parts with Kick-Ass look like any generic "Superbad" kind of modern teen comedy - some of the same actors even - but the Hit Girl stuff looks totally twisted!

Though, as a father with two daughters, I'm not sure how I feel about that girls use of language, lol...but my kids have already seen the trailers and I've been told I've already "ruined them for life" by taking them to "Watchman" (they begged)...so they are a lost cause already, right?

Just as long as none of them try to *really* dodge bullets in real life...(and I already got my oldest a knife for *Christmas*...)

Demented! I love it! :rommie: (And pooh on Heroes for not realizing a long time ago that it needed a little dash of what this movie has in spades.)

Any movie that uses the Battle Hymn of the Republic and The Banana Splits is a must-see!

Hell, even Nicholas Cage looks tolerable in this movie. I look forward to it.

I've been so for this movie since last summer when Mark Millar was taking scenes and showing them at comic conventions. I have very high expectations from the twenty minutes or so I've seen, that if I end up not liking it in the end, it'll be the biggest letdown in the history of ever.

I know - that part through me for a loop too...

As I've said before in other threads, Cage can have his moments. (watch: The Rock) There are plenty of times where he makes you want to drill a stale pixie-stick into your skull, but, yeah, this movie looks like one where he'll be entertaining to watch.

I think that Mark Millar's books are ripe for the big screen because of the way he writes, so I am looking forward to his work being adapted.

I got a definite Leon the Professional vibe from this. It's actually a bit disturbing seeing a kid off people like that, though!

I do get wee a bit of a creepy old pedo vibe from Nick cage in this - but I get that from him in a lot of movies, lol...

And pics like this of Hit Girl probably don't help that...

^At the same time - I also get a bit of a Kill Bill vibe from that pic...

Hehe...

Uh...did I say "craptastic no talent little hussy"...? I...er...meant *fantastic*...fantastically talented young woman...I truly don't understand why she doesn't have a dozen Grammys...Hannah Montana should have gotten a Best Picture Oscar...

The "sexualization" of the young girl is a bit... creepy and makes me feel uncomforable. Considering the girl is 12.

I mean, give her a few years and, yeah. But now, her in the school-girl outfit. :shudder:

Yeah...because a school-girl outfit on a girl that would actually wear one is a terrible thing! :p

Seriously though, I see what you mean, but it doesn't really seem all that different when the Harry Potter kids were that age.
