World's Finest reports that a Warner Bros representative has confirmed that Kevin Conroy, Tim Daly, and Clancy Brown will voice Batman, Superman, and Lex Luthor respectively in Superman/Batman: Public Enemies, the next DC Universe animated DTV movie after Green Lantern: First Flight.

Superman/Batman: Public Enemies adapts the first story arc of the Superman/Batman comic book series. It's set to be released in September, with the precise date likely to be announced very soon.

Re: Kevin Conroy, Tim Daly, and Clancy Brown to voice Superman/Batman

Didn't a book just come out with that same title?

Re: Kevin Conroy, Tim Daly, and Clancy Brown to voice Superman/Batman

A novel came out called Superman/Batman: Enemies & Allies, but that's not related to this DTV. The trade paperback collection of Superman/Batman: Public Enemies has been out for some time, and has been resolicited for September to coincide with the DTV's release.

Although the exact release date hasn't been announced in a press release yet, some websites have seen promotional material that states the release date as the 29th September.

Here are some pics from the movie:

1) This new is frakking awesome!

2) Public Enemies looks like kind of like a Bruce Timm animated DC production anyway so I find it very fitting.

Nice to see them all working together again (nothing against the others who have voiced Superman, but Daly was the best.)

Re: Kevin Conroy, Tim Daly, and Clancy Brown to voice Superman/Batman

I wonder if this one will be more faithful to the source material since its only 6 issues and the other stuff was kind of longer I think.

I'm guessing even though their using the same voice actors from the Animated series..that this is completely separated from that universe?

Which is too bad the animated DC Universe has a lot of history to it and it's a shame they won't use it anymore.

It's separate. You couldn't do this story with the DCAU, anyway, precisely because of that history.

I do hope they've made the original story less stupid, since the first is classic Loeb (favourite scene: President Luthor announces that he's captured Superman and Batman, aiming to lure Superman and Batman to the White House, which he thinks will work because, er, they'll want to rescue themselves? They don't take the bait, but Nightwing and the rest of their posse does, so they break in, get captured, and then Luthor demands that Nightwing tell him where Superman and Batman are, despite the fact that his even going there shows he doesn't know. Not to be out-stupided, Nightwing in turn demands that Luthor tell him where Superman and Batman are, which makes even less sense, since Luthor just told them he doesn't know and is demanding that they tell him. And this goes on for a bit, each ignoring the implications of the other's actions).

Captain Marvel was in the original story (in Superman/Batman). Is he in the adaptation? That's what I'd like to know right now.

Clancy Brown.

YESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS.

YES.

YES.

I'm behind on my DCAU movies, though; I still need to see Wonder Woman.

The site Voices from Krypton put up the above pics and interviewed the voice cast along with Stan Berkowitz, Gregory Noveck, Jeph Loeb, and some others involved. According to their article Captain Marvel is in the movie.

Nice. I always liked Tim Daley as Superman's voice and I loved Clancy Brown as Lex. Conroy is always awesome as Batman.

I'd be curious to see how they adapt it.

Thanks. I was a bit concerned when I didn't see Captain Marvel in any of the images.

Yay! Finally, Power Girl's boobies are animated! Yay!

Re: Kevin Conroy, Tim Daly, and Clancy Brown to voice Superman/Batman

Very happy about this announcement...I think Kevin Conroy had already been announced as Batman/Bruce Wayne because Wikipedia already has his name attached as did imdb. Love that they were able to get Clancy and Tim back to do Luthor and Superman. I just love the fact that they are using the Ed McGuiness artwork in the animated version.....in some ways I'm more excited for this movie than I am Green Lantern First Flight.

Re: Kevin Conroy, Tim Daly, and Clancy Brown to voice Superman/Batman

I'll echo the freakin' awesome sentiments. I remember reading years ago Superman/Batman issues with President Luthor trying to arrest the duo with the help of JSA members. Nice pics. Looking forward to the DVD.

Conroy's involvement hadn't been announced by Warners, but he let the cat of the bag himself a little early in an interview.

Re: Kevin Conroy, Tim Daly, and Clancy Brown to voice Superman/Batman

Awesome news! I never would have suspected this comic to be turned into a DTV movie. I bought the compilation comic a few years ago. You can imagine my excitment when they do a movie from something I have :)

I hope Superman holds the 66 Batmobile over Batman's head.

I've also got HUSH which I hope they'll adapt too.

Re: Kevin Conroy, Tim Daly, and Clancy Brown to voice Superman/Batman

Awesome, awesome news. I was just wondering the other day who the voice cast would be.

Part of me would almost, almost, prefer George Newburn over Daly... but Daly's good, too.

(I loved Daly's work in Superman: TAS, but Boomerang's nightly repeats of JLU have really burned Newburn's voice into my brain as the sound of Superman.)

As far as Conroy and Brown go... I could not be happier. The two of them have really made their respective roles their own. If they were the only people ever allowed to voice Batman and Luthor as long as they both shall live, I'd be totally cool with that.

(No slight against Diedrich Bader, who does a bang-up job... but Conroy is THE voice of Batman, for my money.)

Did you miss the Justice League Unlimited episodes featuring Galatea? Her name and origin may have been different, but she was a full-grown Supergirl clone wearing Power Girl's costume.
