Kevin Conroy Batman question

Gojirob

My brother is re-playing Arkham Asylum, and along comes the second Scarecrow sequence. We hear Thomas and Martha Wayne in the distance. To my surprise, Thomas is KC voicing himself as the BTAS version of Bruce. He did essentially the same inflection as John Grayson on The Batman, but its been so rare to hear him do that voice since BTAS ended. When The New Batman Adventures/Gotham Knights started on the Kids WB (and on his Superman TAS appearances, and thereafter on other DCAU shows), he switched to one voice as Bruce or Batman.

My question : Does anyone know why he stopped using the distinctive Bruce voice after BTAS folded?

Probably because after the retooling of BTAS, we never really saw the Bruce Wayne billionaire playboy persona anymore.

People say it was the Batman persona taking over and being more Batman than Bruce Wayne as the years went by.

It essential got more and more bat heavy to the point where I can't recall seeing Bruce in JL, no Clark for that matter.
Why they went this route I don't know but it makes sense on the ensamble shows where you have to give screen time to everyone and that would only get more complex if we added in other selves.

Even Gotham Knight didn't really show us the billionare playboy.

Because he was told to by his employers. I think it was the network's idea for some inexplicable network reason, though it might have been the producers' choice for some other reason.

But---this is the same network that gave us Pinky&The Brain&Elmyra! Surely all their efforts produce only the purest good.

Thanks, everyone. I had thought maybe the two styles strained KC's throat or something. Though if that were true, Phil Lamarr and Clancy Brown would be SOL.

He appeared as Bruce at a party with Diana, and also when the Thanagarians invaded.

 And the creators of P & B poked fun at the network for wanting that very thing (i.e. a third character who existed for no reason, when the two clearly worked as a duo). I think Elmyra was the network getting revenge on them.

:guffaw:

I can't recall Bruce or Clark though I don't doubt they were there but seen as you're so knowleable did we ever see the counter parts of the other JL members (besides GL I can recall that one)? Genuine question btw I'm not waiting to spring some trap through a cleverly worded phrase or something.

Flash unmasked as Wally along with Bruce and Clark during the Thanagarian Invasion, and Hawkgirl's true identity was revealed then too - and often thereafter she was referred to as "Shayera" rather than "Hawkgirl."

Wonder Woman/Princess Diana is not an assumed identity, though I think she appeared briefly as Diana Prince during the Viking Prince episode? Maybe?

and J'Onn is also in his real identity already. I think in the first JL episode he might be undercover as John Jones? And near the end of the series he goes off on his own for some time while Mr. Terrific mans the Watchtower, only to have a triumphant return when Darkseid invades.

Actually she first gave her name as Shayera Hol in "The Terror Beyond." And GL called her Shayera a few times between then and "Star-crossed," I'm pretty sure. She didn't hide her name, just her true mission. And after "Star-crossed," the Hawkgirl name was never used again except by members of the general public in "Wake the Dead." Officially, she was just Shayera from that point on.

Not as Diana Prince, merely as Diana of Themiscyra in business attire.

He never used the John Jones identity by name, but did assume a John Jones-type appearance in "Starcrossed" and when he went off on his own in "To Another Shore."

You know I think I've realised the problem, I've never seen the Thanagarian Invasion Lol.
It's only just come to me, I know it happened but I've never seen it happen.
