3 Seasons is NOT enough Kes action!!! ... This girl will steal your heart. That's it and all about it.

You know how the Trekkers from the Olden Days go, "STAR TREK LIVES"??? Same thing with the Kessers, they say, "KES LIVES!!!" To the same effect ...

Trekkies, Trekkers ... it's all so twee, isn't it? When will fandom abandon these cutesy titles and phrases that make STAR TREK fandom seem so severe and fringe, to begin with?

No, the current relaunch books

It did start in String Theory, though, and those are still part of the relaunch continuity; they're in continuity with the current Voyager stuff. (It's also a pretty awesome trilogy too, so I'm glad for that. :D )

Kes was annoying. Her voice bothered me. She was constantly speaking very, very, very softly and gently. I couldn't not notice it every time she spoke. That's apparently the acting choice she made for Caretaker and she stuck with it for every line of dialogue afterwards.

I did very much enjoy those books.

The "String Theory" books and the current relaunch books has actually brought back Kes in some way and restored the character from the humiliation and destruction those in charge of the TV show did to her.

But I was actually referring to my Kes come-back story "Coming Home". :techman:

Surely, Katie, you could afford a more flattering description of Kes? She's got this Lauren Bacall quality to her voice. Sexy and seductive and at the same time ... very reassuring. If Kes tells you "everything's going to be alright," she's exactly the kind of woman who can make sentiments like that sound genuine ... and sincere. There's no pretention with Kes. There are no airs about her. When it comes from Kes ... you're hearing it straight from the heart. You know who she reminds me of? Melanie from Gone with the Wind. She's all heart ...

Meh. I'd be creeped by her overly sweet tone. I'm not saying I'd turn her away...especially once she grew her hair out....but her voice bugs me.

Your ears must be keener than mine. To me, Kes' voice sounds as smooth as a chorus girl's leg slipping into a silk stocking ...

Not sure if it's really an acting choice. I think that's just her way of speaking. She sounds like that in everything I've seen her in. And I must add that I rather love her voice and way of speaking.
