In the Primeverse the newly refitted USS Yorktown was rechristened the Ent-E.
In the Kelvinverse Commodore Pariss, commander of the starbase Yorktown, mentions a that ship being constructed there was nearly complete.
I think that ship was christened as the Ent-E thus in both timelines Ent-E has a connection to a Yorktown.
Huh huh? What do you think?

I see your link, but I assumed Yorktown was from the early drafts of Trek's pilot where the ship was called the Yorktown and the captain called April.

Come to think of it, that's probably why Roddenberry wanted the Enterprise-A to be the renamed Yorktown too.

The Yorktown was never canonically said to be the Enterprise-A. We don't know if the Enterprise-A was a new ship or an old ship given a new name.

Given all the trouble Scotty was having in ST V, I'm guessing the Enterprise-A was a new ship:

The refits were essentially new ships. Just the space frame was the same.
