Katee Sackoff on CSI

Whofan

Fleet Captain
She just appeared on Thursday's episode, "Cold Blooded". She was pretty much a detective in the B-plot of this episode (involving missing women), as the A-plot involved robot dinosaurs used in a murder.

Reportedly she's going to be a sort of semi-regular. There's some buzz about her possibly replacing Helgenberger as the second lead of the show (As newcomer Fishburne quickly replaced William Peterson/Grissom). However the show has attempted to introduce new female characters with limited success such as Louise Lombard and Lauren Lee Smith's characters who didn't stay for very long (And were mainly replacements for Sara, who is now back on the show again).

That can't be as good as it sounds...

It was actually kind of fun.

CSI has been very high-concept this season. We had the murder at a vampire/werewolf convention, the "forensic-proof" murderer, the murder at a hoarder's house, and now the dinosaur ep.

Sounds like "high concept" means, "we've ran out of ideas so let's just go for ever meme, cliche, and popular culture fad we can milk."

Lauren Lee Smith is gone from CSI? Along with Louise Lombard?? And Sara is back why? Couldn't the actress find work afterwards?

CSI has been doing "high concept" episodes for years and years. They do about 3 or 4 a year.

I normally don't watch CSI (count me in as another one the show lost when Grissom left), but watched this because of the dinos. Last summer my wife and I went took our kids to see the "Walking with Dinosaurs" that was featured on the show and it was amazing! Imagine my surprise when I saw Ms. Sackoff as a detective. I had no idea she was on CSI.
