Kate Mulgrew performing in Edinburgh in August

Kate is performing as Gertrude in an adaptation of Hamlet on the Edinburgh Fringe Festival this year at the Space on the Mile.​

It's only a small venue, and according to Totally Kate, she's only there for the first week, until Thursday 11th.​

I have my tickets already, but if anyone else can make it, I suggest you pick up your tickets sooner rather than later.​

It's not the first time we've had a Trek actor over - I saw George Takei performing Shimon Wincelberg's Undertow at the Netherbow back about '85, and few years back Babylon 5's Claudia Christian performed in a thriller on Chambers Street, Killing Time.​

Now if only we can persuade Kate to come back next year with Tea at Five...​

If it's of interest to anyone, Margaret Cho is here for the entire month, and John Malkovich is directing Julian Sands in a show, although not performing himself. I'm sure other names will crop up as I become more familiar with the programme.​
 
Should have said - the Friday night is sold out already - I got the last tickets!
 
We expect a full report, when you've seen her this summer.

Alas... can't bring myself to travel "that far", even for Kate.

Of the six days Kate is here, four were sold out when I checked this afternoon. I was annoyed by the fact that the press were more interested in Alec Baldwin, even though he's not here, than Kate who actually is.

It is kind of cool when the stars make a trip to come see me rather than having to travel to see them - George Takei did a play in Edinburgh about twenty five years back, Undertow, and the world premiere of some little film called Serenity was at the Edinburgh Film Festival in 2005. This year, the film festival starts next weekend, and Ewan Mcgregor is here for the premiere of Perfect Sense. Hope we get good seats!

Ita a Creation entertainment convention for Trek's 45th year. Its a 3 day con but my friends and are are just getting a ticket for Sunday, the day he's there, and OF COURSE a photo with him!
