Found some Red photos - and seeing these I realise we have had some posted here before. I have to say, this role is not flattering to Karl at all. Still, I found one that was nice :)

And I don't care what anyone says, I love him as Vaako :adore:

Flattering or not, any role that lets us see that beautiful smile  is okay with me. And I'm partial to the rumpled Karl look. Thanks for posting that one, TD. Love it!

P.S. That's a great site, too. I haven't run across that one before.

Yeah, it's a new one to me too - someone had posted a photo from that site on FYDM so I went to have a look, they've got an amazing collection of screen-shots and filming photos. I need to go back and take a proper look

    New site!
Like the short YouTube video of him at SuperNova.
Can I just be the girl that hands him the pens?

    Other news:
Watched Ghost Ship last night (thank you, Streaming Netflix)
Lotta suspension of disbelief... but I thought it slightly better than Doom in terms of the gratuitis gore-factor.

Interesting to watch him nearly 10 years ago.
He is very busy acting in some scenes... and he still doesn't have a handle on his accent in all scenes.

Funny how I kept talking to the screen:
    "Karl, wash your hair."
"Ooooo, sick, Juliana -- you did NOT just do that!"
"Gross, Karl, did you have to have your face peeled off??"
(Though I can totally imagine him saying "I get to die HOW? COOOL!!")

Why do you say the role is not flattering to him? (I haven't read much about his role in it. Assuming he is yet another bad guy.)

I did not like Riddock... but I have to agree with your choice of screen shot here.... it's all about the eyes.

Sorry, I phrased it badly. I meant that he doesn't look very good in the on-set shots, he seems to spend his time in what looks like a cheap suit or a bulky coat - like a supermarket security guard or something.

I'm sure when we actually get to see the film it'll be fine, because I think he is playing a bad guy - one of the assassins and he's good at those :D

I am thinking the bulky coat is off the set/keep warm between takes... but I could be wrong.
I know the coat you mean (I think) because that is one of the pictures I saw a month or more ago, and it was labled as being between takes while shooting in Toronto (when it was still pretty cold out). It looked like he had suit pants on with it -- which is why I assumed it was a "throw this on between takes/walking from the trailer" coat.

(This is the same pic I went to try and find again to post for ya'll -- and couldn't.)

    Did that make any sense?
I feel like I am babbling incoherently cause I am suddenly really tired.
(Alas at 1:00am I'll be wide awake and guzzling wine to try to sleep.)

I think you made sense. I'd read some posts by someone else who was doing location shooting in the Toronto area at around the same time--within a week or so, I think, and oddly enough, also on a project titled Red (though pretty clearly not the same project)--and the word was it was cold, at least for those who usually live somewhere more temperate.

I'll forgive him then - no-one goes for looking good over being warm during a Canadian winter.

Ya'll heard that PRIEST has been pushed back to sometime in 2011, right?

Yeah, I'm not getting my hopes up about a release date from Priest - it'll arrive when it arrives, so long as it gets here some time!

Took another look at karl-urban.us and they have another photo from Supanova in Brisbane:

At least they have it listed as Brisbane 2010, but to be honest I think it's a photo from maybe a couple of years ago? Any opinions?

He's wearing the same shirt in the 2010 highlights reel -- you see him just for a second or so.

It is pictures like the above that tell me I am definitely, a 100%, non-wavering, blatant heterosexual.

(Not that I doubted myself, actually... but the lack of breathing while viewing such images kinda confirms it.)

(Said in Seinfeld voice: "Not that there's anything wrong with that....")

(I still just wanna be the girl that hands him the pens. I mean... how can she just STAND there, acting like she is not noticing.... THAT...????
Damn if I was her I'd load myself up with pheromone perfume, a low cut shirt, and find reasons to have to lean over just a leeetle too far in front of him. If I even caught his eyes drifting once -- I'd win, and could then dissolve happily into a puddle of hormones.)
