Karen Gillan on Ferguson (maybe) April 13

Although this was mentioned at the bottom of the Matt Smith Craig Ferguson thread, it's worth putting it out on its own that according to several Who fan sites, citing the online ticket service http://www.1iota.com Karen Gillan is scheduled (maybe) to be a guest on Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson tomorrow, April 13 (that is, that's when it's taped; depending where you live in America it'll likely be obscenely early on April 14 when it airs). Diane Lane is the other guest.

I say maybe because the TV listings for Zap2It.com show Ashley Judd as the sole guest tomorrow. So one of the listings is wrong, or maybe something's been rescheduled.

Or we could be in for Who Night 3 on Ferguson tomorrow!

If there are any regular Ferguson fans in the house, maybe they can keep an eye on the end of the show tonight for any announcement that might confirm if Karen is indeed going to be on?

PS. Want a mindblower? Not only is Craig Ferguson a huge Doctor Who fan but i discovered last night that not only was he a candidate to play Dave Lister in Red Dwarf, but he played "Confidence" in the classic first season episode "Confidence and Paranoia"! Check it out if you have the DVD. I didn't even recognize the guy.

Ok, I've set it to record. We'll see if you're right. And on an awesome note, since I was there setting up the record, I looked to see who the other guests in the next week are. Next Tuesday, he's having Kathy Griffin. Gotta see that! I can't miss any time she's on.

Checkin' the listings via the cable guide.

Tonight its Wynonna Judd & Ariel Tweto. Tomorrow its Ashley Judd & Evan Michelson. Thursday its Kristen Bell & Jason Aldean. Friday its Robin Wright & Dan Riskin. Monday its Tina Fey & Joe DeVito.

Guess someone needs to talk to Karen Gillan's agent.

Or maybe Craig just told her that her interview would air, just so he could meet her, since he's such a fan of the franchise.

Going by that site they're just taping her segment on the 13th. Craig often tapes some of his guest segments weeks before they actually air. Her segment will probably air sometime close to the 23rd.

EDIT: I originally wrote a reply disputing this, because daily talk shows are supposed to be, y'know, DAILY. Plus both Smith and Kingston's segments aired the night they were taped. But, for some reason, this particular episode of Ferguson is indeed airing later - April 22 according to this website:

So go figure. Weird.

While that puts it closer to when the new season starts, it's disappointing for those of us who were looking forward to seeing her tonight - as well as the possibility of a preview clip from the new season.

They mention on the DVD commentary that he lost a lot of weight after he quit the booze. They were very complimentary of him!

It's not uncommon for him to pre-tape guest segments as some of his guests are only available on a certain date or in some cases entire episodes in advance as "The Late Late Show" isn't his only gig. He still does stand up so he'll stockpile a few episodes for when he's on tour so the show won't go into reruns. During these episodes he'll sometimes make jokes that allude to the fact episode has been taped a bit in advance.

Yep, he tapes guests. The day I went to a taping, Mark Ruffalo was supposed to be a guest. Well, he wasn't there for the taping. But, that night, he was in the episode.

They also taped another email/letter segment. They were created a pool of material because Craig's wife was pregnant, and they wanted to have new episodes while he was away.

So, it happens more than we know.

Yeah he's been known to tape entire weeks of episodes beforehand, and of course loves to poke fun at his "friday" shows which are never actually taped on friday.

Still, shame about no Gillan tonight. :(
