Kai Winn /Reckoning

Nakita Akita

Commodore
Commodore
The Reckoning, the episode wher Kira and Jake face off with electric charges after being possessed by Pah Wraithes and Prophets.

This is one of my favorite episodes.
It's great how Odo is so accepting that Kira's beliefs are so strong that she would be willing to die for them. :adore: (Hate their relationship though)
And even Jake as he is recovering telling his dad that he was willing to die so that the Pah Wraithes would lose and be killed.

But Kai Winn?
How would anyone on the Space station ever even believe one word she ever said after that. Why are they not suspicious of her every move after she stopped the reckoning? It seems that akita and Sisko should have made efforts do have her appointment as Kai rescinded at least.
I always want to teach into the TV and toss her out an airlock. :klingon:
She reminds me of this woman I used to work with. (Thankfully she was in a lower position than me) always with the fake smile but the conniving in her mind.:klingon:

Is it just me because of that person I worked with, or does everyone want to choke her?

Although I know that the actress is very good because she is probably supposed to make us feel this way.

Not just you.

There are few, if any, actors who can play loathsome characters better than Louise Fletcher.

Her actions in this episode led to Jadzia's death in the season finale, Benjamin's "death" in the series finale and her own death at the hands of Dukat.

Whatever Winn did in subsequent episodes, I agreed with here actions here. If I were Sisko, and the Prophets/Pah Wraiths possessed my son for their games, I probably would have used the Defiant to blow up the wormhole.

So, she "got hers" I guess.
It's just that she totally reminds me if the woman I worked with.

But Sisko knew that the Pah Wraithes weren't going to kill his son.
I think Stupid ol' Kai Winn caused his injuries by turning up the Chronitons on the Pah Wraithes.

Winn is most definitely a character you're meant to love to hate.

Before "Reckoning" they had tried to ease the animosity that existed between her and the station, but this episode reversed that completely and brought her back to being an antagonist. Though I'd say after the events of "Shakaar" that none of the station crew trusted her, given all she risked over something so menial.

Sisko believed that the Prophets would not allow his son to be killed. However, the outcome of the "duel" was not assured, Jake was harmed, and perhaps more importantly, he felt he could have been killed by the duel.
