Just when it's going perfectly...

Yeah, although I like the new Cybermen design and abilities, they didn't really do too much good with it. Also bringing back the gold weakness was not a good idea (wasn't this episode hyped as making the Cybermen more scary?)

Honestly, and maybe I'm in the minority here (shocker) but I really like "I am the Doctor"... It sets tone (usually) for a dramatic sequence perfectly... Yes, I associate it with Matt Smith and probably always will, but I think it's one of those things where they just hit on the right notes and the right time and it's stuck...

I liken it to the Enterprise theme in the new Trek movies... A little over used in Into Darkness, but I love the build of the music as it signals the mighty ship is about to rise...

Better than I thought it was going to be. Ended a bit abruptly but otherwise solid.

Yeah, I was surprised to hear I am the Doctor in the preview, since Murray Gold indicated he was going to retire that tune when Matt Smith left.
Murray Gold doesn't write new music for the trailers; the production team uses library cues for them.

Well, I didn't notice the music, and that's how I like it. If it's not the Imperial March, Unstoppable, O Verona, anything by Bear McCreary or Danny Elfman, then I don't want to notice the music consciously.
