Just Went To Disney World!!!

The All Star Resorts are not that bad to your pocketbook. I think we spent $1,300 in total; that's five days at the parks, six nights at the hotel, AND airfare. For two people. That's just $93 a day per person.

BTW the All Star food courts had toasters and microwaves you could use for free. I mentioned the $14 all you can drink cup... they didn't just have soda, they had coffee, iced tea, hot cocoa...

^Hopefully they aren't doing much with Paradise Pier which is where California Screamin' is. I actually thought that was the best part of the entire park. Glad to hear they are answering some concerns from the people, even though I just remember people hating it simply because it wasn't "Disneyland"

The whole Victorian boardwalk I mentioned is basically the new Paradise Pier. If you had been there in the past couple of years than you have already seen the new changes. For example they took the giant sun off of the ferris wheel and now it is a giant vintage style Mickey head. And many of the small shops along the pier had their architecture changed to the Victorian style.

Edit: Ah, I see you just edited your post! Yeah there were definitely some complaints about the new signs on California Screamin' and the ferris wheel, but in a few years nobody will likely even remember what used to be there before. It will be like one of those rumors of the "olden days" you tell your grandchildren when you take them to the park. "Did you know that the ferris wheel used to have a giant sun on it..." "What?! That sounds stupid!"

Mr. Light, I have found some reasonable prices on-site, at Disney World and Disneyland, but it still would be very hard to go for it as long as there was a better deal somewhere else. I did stay at one of the Disney hotels at the Disneyland resort once, and while it was a fun difference, I wouldn't say it was worth the extra price. Of course I don't have money to go on trips across the country anytime soon so it's a rather moot point!

I edited my post (After reading some of the changes on Wikipedia) I guess as you were writing. Basically, I'm glad they're doing these changes even though I'm not all that happy about taking out the Mickey face on California Screamin' but I guess it had to go with the new theme. Looking forward to being there in May as the last time I was there was probably for Disenylands 50th anniversary, which I think was 2008.

^And I edited my post to respond to your edit! Hope you have fun in May, by that time perhaps the Little Mermaid ride will be open (Spring 2011 is listed as its opening date). That was my favorite movie as a child so I am very much looking forward to the ride!

Wow thanks for all the CA updates! I had no idea. I totally forgot to mention how much I LOVE the Tower of Terror. And the ferris wheel. And I do love Soarin'. As others mentioned its just California, but growing up there means I actually recognize a lot of it. Oh man, I miss Disneyland, I will have to go sometime soon!!

Love Disney World! We haven't been in a long time, but we are thinking of going sometime this May. My husband read somewhere that Star Tours is supposed to be operational in May...just in time for Star Wars Weekends!
We don't usually stay on property, we usually go someplace just off or so. Yea, that means we have to drive and fight crowds to get out, but that doesn't bother us so it isn't a big deal not to be on property.
As far as food is concerned, we budget our trip to include the over-priced prices you get at the theme parks. Although sometimes you can find places that offer good deals. Just depends on how long you stay at the parks or how much you budget.
