Just read the Axis of Time trilogy

Basically a multinational naval task force led by U.S. and comprised of American, British, Australian, Japanese, French, and Indonesian ships are operating off the coast of Indonesia in 2021. Something unexpected happens, and they're sent back in time to Midway, 1942. All sorts of hilarity ensues. Deals heavily with the social and technological impact of their arrival in WWII era.

would recommend to sci fi/military fiction fans

I read the Axis of Time trilogy last year and really enjoyed it. I highly recommend it.

The author does a good job speculating about the way future technology changes the war, and also the sociological issues that the future crew has to deal with - for example the rampant racism of the 1940's.

The series was a pretty good read; I'd recommend it as well.

I picked up book 2 as a blind buy not realizing it was part of a series... I had to drop it half way through the second chapter and race to B&N to find book 1 so I could get caught up, LOL.

Did the same, but decided to finish it first. I then decided to reread it after the other two arrived:)

They're a good read:)

Ironic. I'm re-reading Weapons of Choice as we speak. His new series looks good, too. Read the first book and the sequel comes out 8/17.
