I just saw a new video interview with Jonathan Delarco on Star Trek.com talking about reprising his role of Hugh the borg . It's a really interesting video. And he tells a story about meeting Whoopi Goldberg for the first time and his experiences when he was on Star Trek TNG. That he spent 3 months filming Star Trek Picard. That he throughly enjoyed his time working on the new show.
I assume you mean this one https://ca.startrek.com/videos/my-first-contact-jonathan-del-arco-shares-earliest-trek-memories He gives an (probably obvious) hint as to where we'll see Hugh in Picard Spoiler On a Borg Cube, It's probably the one we see controlled by the Romulans in the trailer.
It's really cool for one-off characters to come back 20 years later. I'm so curious how things will have changed for him. And what their updated Borg makeup will look like.
Maybe he started his own collective. "We are Hugh. Resistance is not futile. But let's be friends. Where's Geordi?"
Yes that's the link thanks for posting it. I think I read some where Jonathan DelArco was going to at the Picard Panel at New York Comicom in a few weeks. I hope we'll get a new video preview on Youtube of the series or photos of the TNG cast like Riker and Troi visiting with Picard.
Spoiler Which hopefully explains the blue hue. Great video clip, thanks for relaying the link! (Probably not hard to find but it's a nice timesaver.) Not a new idea, to bring forward a one-off, but an easy one given the utilization of the Borg as a springboard for this series. There are potential plot avenues. With luck he'll not be as chirpy/hyper as Seven seemed to be. Even in "Descent" (good idea, but flawed execution as something didn't gel) it's clear the Borg conditioning didn't take over when Hugh was returned to them in "I Borg" - quite the contrary... It will be interesting to watch to see where they take him. And how far.
