Haven't seen this posted around here yet. But wanted to show some love for the design of the U.S.S. Fortune. Don't know if this image on the second page will be the final design but it really speaks pre-Tos to me and has a very "Sub" like quality to it. Hope it makes it into the Comic series which is supposed to feature April and Pike.

One of the things I like about it is the size. Trek has developed a lot of ships cruiser-sized and larger, and runabout-sized and smaller, but very few in the middle range (an artifact of dramatic necessity and production costs, I would guess).

He's also obviously taking the time to design it carefully, so it'll be interesting to see how it turns out.

The designs look intriguing, and period-appropriate.
