JLA vs Dark Avengers?

A few years back fanboys and girls finally saw the fight they were hoping for over the years and some got what they wanted. As expected DC did have more power and dominated most of the conflicts particularly Superman v Thor. But now the Dark Riegn has shown us a new Avengers lineup with Sentry upping the Marvel power level quite a bit a fight between the JLA and Osborn's Avengers could be quite different. However I guess it all comes down to Superman vs The Sentry.

Does anybody else have thoughts on this?
 
Sentry's a punk. And after SIEGE #4, he's not gonna be taking on anyone anytime soon. And the rest of the Dark Avengers would be way out of their weight class taking on the JLA. Maybe Ares might stand a chance, but Wonder Woman has laid the smack down on his more ambitious DC universe counterpart on more than one occasion.

A better fight would be Osborn's Cabal against the JLA. Namor, Frost, Loki, Doom, Hood.

Sentry v. Superman
Ares v. Wonder Woman
Iron Patriot v. Batman
Ms. Marvel v. Green Lantern
Hawkeye v. Green Arrow
Captain Marvel v. Martian Manhunter
Spider-Man v. Flash
Wolverine v. Vixen

Actually I didn't think the Dark Avengers would be so outmatched until I did my hypothetical match ups. Not to say it would be a walk in the park for the JLA. They would get pushed to the limit, and under the right circumstances, the Dark Avengers could win. The only Avengers wins I see from my list are Hawkeye and Wolverine. I don't really know enough about Captain Marvel/Marvel Boy, but I'm going out on a limb and saying that he can't beat Martian Manhunter.

Wait, it just occurred to me: that's not the real Wolverine. It's his goofy mohawk sporting son. No way he beats Vixen. She way outpowers him.

And J'onn would probably be a better matchup for The Sentry. He's got Superman level powers PLUS telepathy which would come in handy with crazy Bob.
 
Remove The Sentry and the Dark Avengers are no match for the JLA.

However, with Bob, the JLA are utterly screwed. Not even Superman comes close to a guy who can just decide that his dead wife isn't dead anymore.

Granted Vixen is powerful. She would give Dark Wolverine a match. But I think you're underestimating Dark Wolverine. He was killing Asgardians left and right in Siege. He's a tough, ruthless warrior, and a cunning manipulator.

I've never seen Vixen unleashed so it would be interesting to see her unload on him, but she would have to do that to survive. He's not going to quit. Daken might not be as durable as his father, but he's nearly as formidable.

I'm not going to say that out of a best of seven that Vixen wouldn't win a few, but Daken would ultimately come out on top. Vixen unleashed might take him to game seven though.

That is about how I saw it. I think MMH would be able to handle Captain Marvel pretty easily however. But I like you am not overly familiar with his power set.
 
Yeah, pretty much. The JLA would be hampered by trying to capture the Dark AVengers. The CSA would just kill 'em.
 
^I would have thought they'd be too busy trying not to be flown in to space and torn in half...
 
Considering the relative ease with which the Sentry was dispatched in SIEGE #4, I doubt he'd be able to stand up against a team featuring immoral, evil versions of Superman, Wonder Woman, and Batman. And sans Ares, the rest of the DA would be dead before they even realized they were in a fight.
 
I still want to know what the hell is up with Marvel. They seem dead set in amping up the strengths of their characters across the board.

It's incredibly stupid. DC has been hampered by this problem for literally decades, and with Crisis downgraded their top tier characters to allow some realism to be shown in their titles. While its true those abilities over the years have also increased, they are nowhere near the level pre Crisis (hell they even use Superboy Prime as an example of how powerful those characters used to be).

Yet Marvel and company that long took pride in a more reasoned and realistic tone to their books seem, to be ignoring the very base level part of this equation, and thats having characters with very set limits on their abilities.

20 years ago Superman could have flicked a finger with enough force to destroy Thor.


Yet now Thor (for now real legitimate reason is more powerful) and that hurts the characters.

Yet even still in a dead set fight with teams going all out and to kill Flash alone could kill the Avengers (so certainly the Crime Syndicate would be able to).

But really who cares. Having a stronger team doesn't make that team better or more interesting, it actually makes me not care about them in the slightest.
