It's the Justice League but not as you know it:

In an alternative history Zod is Superman's father, Batman is a vampiric Man-Bat, and Wonder Woman is the child of Ares, God of War. When these dark heroes form an alliance, the question everyone asks is will they save the world, or rule it?

I really enjoyed this, some intital non-spoiler thoughts:

* Wonder Woman's origin has a lovely twist that I didn't see coming
* The action scenes are excellent
* The dialogue has some lovely zingers

Yes it's a much darker take than we are use to seeing but within the context of the movie as presented I have no problem with that.

I do wonder however if in a sequel we will see:

Bruce Wayne and Diana pop up - obviously there will be no Clark Kent unless they make him an actual human.

I saw this last night. I'm completely unfamiliar with Justice League in this or any universe, but it was an entertaining movie.

Really violent though. Not for kids!

I didn't know what to expect going it, but it ended up being a good Elseworlds style story. I liked the little references to other DC stuff, and the main characters were decent. It was violent, but it wasn't a mindlessly dark story, which I was worried about based on the stuff the said about the movie before it released. Overall I wouldn't say its anywhere near my favorite DC direct to dvd movie, but it was good.

A solid effort and loved the lava scene with Superman. This version of Luthor was quite interesting. In a sequel I would look forward to meeting other Leaguers as this universe has much potential.

This was a bit of a strange one. I like that this isn't just a re-hash of the 'Crime Syndicate' concept that I thought it was going to be...but at the same time it felt a little weak for something that's supposed to be a dark and edgy take on JL.

Anyone know if this is just a one off or are they talking about doing another one in this continuity, because I could stand to see these characters developed a little further.

* Wonder Woman's origin has a lovely twist that I didn't see coming

Does it explain why she gets her outfits from Emma Frost's tailor?

Yeah, she's from New Genesis. That's just how they role.
