Jericho is Back - MOVIE

Thats right looks like Jericho once again lives and its coming back in the form of a movie (though unclear what kind but my money on DVD)...

Jericho Returns

Speaking with IF Magazine, executive producer Jon Turtletaub confirmed that a movie for the post-apocalyptic drama is currently in the works that will go beyond the small Kansas town, endeavoring to explore the rest of American society following their bombardment

We’re developing a feature for ‘Jericho,’” Turteltaub told the magazine. “It would not require you to have seen the TV show, but it get into life after an event like this on a national scale.

Hopefully Hawkins and Jake will return in there mission to track down those behind the attacks and we get to see the Civil war kick off. Dam this is great news ;)

Already talked about elsewhere here, but I like repeating myself.... :)

The idea of a movie is a good one if they don't call the movie Jericho, and they don't have all the same lame characters from the TV show. Jake is just not a good enough character to lead a movie.

Feel free not to watch then

Hopefully Hawkins and maybe Jake will be back for the movie. They can leave out all the rest of the character for all I care.

My point is if they want the movie to make money they need to bring in actors who can... let's see... act!

I didn't watch the show, I thought it was cheesy and corny, and the acting was horrible to say the least. However I think if they do it right the movie could be great. the story ended where a movie could begin nicely for new fans and old.

Jake and Hawkins have to be in it. The rest are optional, but those two were central to the storyline leading up the civil war.

Success depends on how they position the movie. If they blow a huge budget on it then it's likely to fail and act as the final death-knell. If they give it a modest budget with moderate expectations then it has a better chance.

Looks as though they're confirming it in 'development' but lots of movies never make it out of that quagmire.

Certainly hope that Jericho does though.

smashing news :)
cheers for this, I do look forward to this movie :)

NO WAY!! This is great! I am willing to count this as a phenominal way to cap of a rather lousy week! I hope to see Jake and Hawkins at a minimum, though seeing some of the other regulars would be great too!

I'm all sorts of excited now!
:D :D :D :D :D :D

This show just will not die! :rommie:

They gotta have Jake and Hawkins, at minimum. Esai Morales might have a new show (Caprica), but he could reprise his role for a movie, surely.

PS, I'm also looking forward to Harper's Island. Sounds like it could be another winner for Turtletaub (and if so, the only thing I'll be watching on CBS...what a wasteland of a network).

I hope this movie has Jake's Mom, his dead sister-in-law (brought back from the dead with no real explanation), the baby, the teacher, the bartender, and the IRS gal. It can be "A Very Special Jericho" where they waste all their generator power on powering Christmas lights and having outdoor dances and learn the true meaning of Christmas.
