Hollywood actor Jeremy Renner was attacked in an early-morning bar brawl in Thailand that left one man in a serious condition.

The Mission: Impossible 4 star was drinking with friends in a Phuket Town venue yesterday when violence broke out after hours at around 4.30am.

One of the men in Jeremy's party, Vorasit Issar - the general manager of the luxurious Sri Panwa Resort - was seriously wounded after getting slashed in the neck with a rotor axe.

Vorasit was also stabbed in the stomach with a knife, TMZ reports.

According to Thai authorities Renner - who only suffered minor injuries - and his party were bar hopping and ended up at Rachada pub in Phoonpol, where the bloody melee occurred.

Vorasit is said to have dropped a glass on the floor, which provoked a heated row with the bar staff.

Six men - who worked at the bar and the Canara restaurant next door - then allegedly started attacking Renner and Issar. Metal pipes, a wooden club and a table leg were other weapons used in the attack. In all, around 20 people were involved.

Bad move. Didn't those guys know Renner is friends with Iron Man and Ethan Hunt?

Damn! Thailand sounds freaking dangerous!

Good thing he left his bow and arrow at home. The story might have had a different outcome.

I have to wonder how much real training he got from the Mission Impossible movie. Those fighting movies he did in MI4 were quite badass. Were they just for show or can he really kick ass?

Renner suffered only minor injuries while the other guy he was with almost got killed. Looks like he might have got some actual training.

Slashed in the neck with a rotor axe? Google seems to suggest that's a helicopter blade, Thailand must be a crazy place LOL.

These are choreographed fights.. they look cool but many moves they do in movies would get your ass kicked in real life because they are useless at best, counterproductive at worst.

So if all his "training" stems from movies and he doesn't have any fighting skills or experience i'm afraid his movie moves would mean shit in real life and any halfway experienced street brawler would mop the floor with him.

Tailand-bar hoping-4am
What idiot is doing this and thinks, "Hey it's all good fun"
Oh, right Renner, idiot. He's not in NYC, London or Brisbane its Phuket Tailand!!!

^^

For reference: Christian Bale in China

I do think that Bale can kick ass. But no intelligent human being starts a fist fight with armed Chinese guards.

If the fight choreographer actually knows his stuff, he would probably train the folks properly, I guess.
