"Jeremiah" is on the Sci-Fi Channel line-up in 4 hour blocks on Thursdays beginning on July 10. Sci-Fi isn't known for commitment so let's hope that the ratings will allow them to keep it on through both seasons.

IMO, the first season is sometimes uneven, due, I think to the scripts written by Sam Egan. To me they're just predictable. Some great episodes are in the July 10 block, though.

This is fantastic news. I've wanted to see this series for some time but they haven't put the second season out yet on DVD so I held off. Sadly, scif-i will have to cut some stuff which sucks.

Oh, no...I hadn't thought of that! I imagine they'll have to clean up the language, too. Damn. :(

I think I saw the first half of Season One and wasn't that impressed. I only watched it for JMS' writing, but it ended up being a carbon copy of B5 even down to recycled dialogue. Still, I'd be curious to see the rest of it. Particularly for free!

Well, I've heard good things about this, so I'm glad I will get the chance to check it out.

I own S1 and haunt various websites looking for info on S2 dvds-it starts out a little erratic but goes to some pretty dark and freaky places as it progresses. Then S2 starts and you get to meet Mr. Smith!-I just hope they don't edit too radically. :wtf:

great news.

season 1 pilot is good, as is the season 1 finale two parter - but the rest is lame.

season 2 is much much better.

well, that is, if you like The Postman...

Although, you can tell that JMS had matured as writer since Babylon 5 in his scripts for Jeremiah. When compared with the first season of B5, the dialog and humor seem crisper. It's not that B5 had bad dialog or humor; however, at times, it was a bit uneven especially in the first year. Hell, B5 had some of the best monologues on television.

Is it going to be worth checking it out on Sci-Fi with all the cuts they'll inevitably make for runtime and content? I've always been a little interested in the show, but not enough to drop it in my Netflix queue.

Runtime isn't too bad, it was a 42-minute show despite being on Showtime.

Content will probably be a slight issue. I seem to recall hearing about "alternate versions" of many scenes being filmed way back when, so maybe they'll just use those instead of cutting it to hell.

Still, only a few episodes had nudity, so it's mainly a language issue. While it will lose something there, I doubt it'll fair much worse than Dead Like Me has in that respect.

I dunno...there's a certain scene in the pilot where Kurdy has some lovely 'blue' language that I'd hate to see go away. On the other hand, maybe I'll learn something from the cleaned up version.

Watched a couple episodes the other day and I heard Jeremiah say, "Heck." It was a bit unnerving....

For those interested, Season 2 starts tonight on the SciFi Channel at 7:00 PM Eastern. Even though there are only 15 hours, I think Season 2 is far better than the first and has one of the best new characters ever.

Yay! Go Mr. Smith! Sean Astin rocks!

Loved the Season 2 opener last night but what's the story behind the change in the prologue?? It went from the wonderfully sad:

It's been fifteen years since the Big Death wiped out everyone over the age of innocence. The end of your world. The beginning of mine.

To the dumbed-down:

It's been 15 years since a strange disease wiped out all of the adults and left us kids to fend for ourselves.

And don't get me started on the change in the theme song :(

Outside of that, looking forward to the rest of Season 2!

You'll get used to the second season theme. I actually prefer it at this point. (It's a remix of the pilot end credits.)

I've been watching Jeremiah on the Sci-Fi Channel on Thursdays. This is the first time I've ever seen the show (didn't see it on Showtime, since I didn't & still don't have that channel) nor on dvd.

I have to say: season 1 was good, especially the two-part season finale which was excellent, BUT season 2 so far is just AWESOME. Just really great so far.

Oh and Mister Smith is such a cool character (definitly my favorite character in Jeremiah). Very Galen-like. " God says..." hehehe. I especially liked that moment in the fourth episode last night (Deus Ex Machica) near the end. WOW. That just Wow. Really. Man.

I also like the addition of Liberty too. She's a good character and she has more chemistry with Jeremiah then Erin does, imo.

Overall, really liking Jeremiah and wishing it had more then two seasons...

Stupid Showtime...
