She should be made to take a test first to see how knowledgable she is about Trek. If she scores highly enough, she's in. But if she scores low (say, less than 90%) she should be banned not only from appearing in Trek, but appearing in ANY MOVIE EVER AGAIN.

This is probably the most off base post I've read in a long time. The acting community doesn't revolve around ST. I'd expect most actors to be able to play a variety of roles in various projects. Just because an actor isn't a fan doesn't mean they can't play a ROLE well...in fact, sometimes it works even better.

On top of this, if Zachary Quinto performs Spock as Leonard Nimoy, without bringing his own interpretation to the role (like the actor from ST:New Voyages did) then it won't be as successful.

She can act, so she is more than just eye candy. She certainly is more talented an actress than Jeri Ryan or Jolene Blalock, and I didn't mind either of them (as actresses--as eye candy, it goes without saying).

First off, i am not trying to be an ass.

Secondly, reread the news item, she said she do anything JJ Abrams asked her to do.

She did not say she wants to be in trek xi.


It seems to me that someone asked her if she would do it if he asked and she said yes, thats a big difference from wanting to be in it. As soon as I saw this I knew people would start posting about how she wants to be in it.

She's neither that attractive nor that good an actress. I have no problem with her being in the film, but I don't think she should be there just because it's Jennifer Garner.

She probably won't be in it. She just said she'd do it if asked, and since she wasn't asked and were less then two months from filming, it probably won't happen.
