Jeff Conaway AKA B5 Zack Hospitalized in a Coma

Yea, really tough break, in and out of Rehab so many times, and he's been lucky to come abck and have another chance to recover, many times, when it's been said he fell of the wagon again, it would mean death.

So, sad to be in a place where drugs have so much hold over, I'll be praying he gets another chance and recovers.

A true tragedy, and sad that his B5 character was one to help another with his demons. l only can hope that he recovers and have the support from family and friends he'll need to beat this.

It's been a while since I've seen the series, but if I remember, Zack alluded to having faced some demons of his own, and, unlike Jeff, overcome them completely.

Situations like this are tough, because, while I do hope he comes through, it also serves as a stark reminder of the damage drugs can do.

I remember reading an interview where he joked about how he didn't seem to grow old gracefully when they gave him his old-age makeup for the finale. It's not that funny anymore.

From what I've read, he was not suffering from an overdose, but rather from sepsis and pneumonia; and the coma was medically induced. He may have aspirated one of the pain pills, causing the condition. Looks like he was in a tough situation, because he needed the pain medication because of serious injuries he suffered last year-- so he needed the meds that he was addicted to.

Poor guy. :(

Damn, not another one. First Richard Biggs, then Andreas Katsulas, and now Jeff Conaway it seems. What is it with the low "life expectancy" of former B5 main cast members? This show is cursed.

DeForest Kelley and James Doohan lived 79 and 85 years espectively, and William Shatner is still doing a weekly TV show. And TOS was a show from the 60s and not the 90s.

RIP

From the AP
Jeff Conaway, who starred in the sitcom "Taxi," played swaggering Kenickie in the movie musical "Grease" and publicly battled drug and alcohol addiction on "Celebrity Rehab," died Friday. He was 60.
