Could not find it again, but I read in an earlier thread someone mentioning something called Jaynz (not sure I'm spelling it right), but thought it might be someone's version of a Jane's Fighting Ships for Trek; if anyone knows what I'm talking about, please give further information (or even better, a link!).

That would be Vance, who I'm sure will be along shortly.
Janyz fighting starships started as an article series in Stardate Magazine published by FASA. This way Fasa could add new ships to thier role playing game and of course thier Starship Combat Simulator game.
Vance came along later and created some very nice material and a web
site based on the FASA Janyz name.

Anyway, I just finished redoing the gallery code for www.jaynz.info and got a LOT of my TOS ships done and up there again. Not nearly all, mind you (there's a metric ton of them), but over 50 at last count.

"Jane's" is a real-world publication (look it up) on military hardware and technology. It's also been "licensed" a couple of times for computer games and the like, but those weren't done by the Jane's folks.
"Jaynz," etc, are corruptions of the "Jane's" name, probably as much to avoid copyright/trademark-infringement issues as anything else.

Firefly is an excellent serires, in many respects, so long as you completely and totally ignore anything technological in it.
This time it's my fault. I got word from SVC and really just need to get stuff together for a mockup on a starship entry. I'm still just trying to figure out which way to go with it.
