Yeah, that was one of the theories that Mannie floated at the end of the book.....another was that mike got to scared and pulled back within himself.....it left it a bit ambiguous intentionally so that the reader could contemplate it.

Yeah, I totally agree. Personally accountability is certainly the other facet of what the professor advocates as a system of living together rather than compulsory behavior dictated by one's govt.
I've always known how much against big govt. am but reading through some of those discussions really made me think quite a bit more about what type of Govt. - if any - I'd be for and I definitely find myself rooting for the type of govt. that the Professor ascribes......both sides of the coin included.
