I voted for Heinlein... I've read all but the Sawyer book, though other than Forever War, which I reread a few years back, it's been decades. Moon is on of my all-time favorites and doing it would fit right in with a larger re-reading-the-classics emphasis I try to find time for.

Although I suggested The Forever War, I voted for The Moon Is a Harsh Mistress. I've read The Forever War before, while Harsh Mistress is a classic I've been meaning to get to.

By the way, I just checked availability of the five books on Amazon UK, Play and the Book Depository and Callahan's Crosstime Saloon is out of print in the UK and Ireland, so if that wins I won't be able to participate in the first month, and there'll likely be other UK and Irish BBS members in the same boat. It didn't occur to me to run a check before, but since there are a lot of UK and Irish board members perhaps we could run such a check in the future before posting the poll for each month.

I voted for The Moon is a Harsh Mistress. (though after checking Amazon, only one of those books is available on the Kindle so that blows.)

Brief Review: Read "The Hunger Games" to see what the noise was about.

I'd give it a 8.9/10. Quick read......started it late Saturday night, finished earlier this evening (Monday) so it's definitely a quick, easy read. The pacing is about right, the characters are believable and likable from the outset. Yes, you can tell it was written so that some who's 12-14 could follow it easily enough and yet it was still engaging, riveting in parts in fact, that it kept my interests.

Starting part 2 (Catching Fire) tonight. I'd recommend the book to about anyone who's 12 or older as there are a few violent, intense moments in the book that might scare someone younger (though in this day and age I doubt it.)

Anyway to get a Book Club thread pinned?

When is the due date to read the book buy? It will be a great trial run for my new iPad I think.

Where are you getting the electronic version? It's not available anywhere I've looked...........

Well that sucks. Guess I will have to go to the library.

That's where I'm headed as well...unless I want to shell out $10 for the paper back from Amazon.
