Sorry for the delay getting this up folks. I had to give plenty of time to make sure it was midnight for all of you on the other half of the world and then my day ran away with one mini crisis after another! :rommie:

Anyhew, thank you to all who participated in the challenge. We had a number of contenders so we are going to allow two votes per person.

    Your nominees are ...

“On the Conservation of Species” by Nerys Ghemor

"Star Trek: Bastille - Something This Way Comes" by goofy

"For Good Men to do Nothing" by Darkush

    "Stubborness vs Obedience" by Kyhrk

"The Face of the Enemy" by Gul Re'jal

The vote closes in three days and the votes are public. Get voting!

On behalf of the first four voters I'd like to say, "hooray for not reading the opening post before voting!"

Maybe people who only voted for 1 could be asked if they did that on purpose or if they want a 2nd choice?

My vote is for Gul Re'jal. Given the self-voting going on here--which I am not going to engage in--that is where my ONLY vote is going.

It's one self-vote and - right now - the outcome would be the same without it. Take the stick out, NG.

Ok. So the voting lines are closed and we find ourselves with a winner. Darkush you are this month's winner and have a new challenge to present to your public! Good luck with that.

I'd like to extend a thanks to all who partook in the January challenge. I was humbled and surprised to have won December's challenge but was even more humbled at the stories entered for my challenge topic. Much thanks for making my month!

And for the record, I did not place a vote in case we needed a tie breaker, however if I had placed my votes they would have gone to Gul Re'jal and Darkush. Well done all.

DarKush, you've won so now it's time to get to take up responsibilities of a winner and choose the theme for February challenge. We don't have much time to write as the month is short and it's already 6th, so please hurry.

The challenge for Feb is to write the shortest meaningful flashfic. The winner is the person with the lowest word count and still a story that has a plot :guffaw:
