Janeway's Perfect Mate

Who's Janeway's perfect mate?

I had to start this thread after a similar one in TNG forum

I don't add Chakotay to the poll because there are too many JCers lurking around :) I just don't want 99% on Chakotay and the rest 1% spread across the other choices. No hard feelings, folks.

I personally like J/7 very much but imo Kashyk is still the best mate for Janeway. They are equally smart, cautious, dangerous - and both are unparalleled actors.

What about you?

I'm probably in the minority here, but I think Janeway and Tuvok would be great together. True, he would never cheat on his wife, but if he were to ever find himself unmarried, they would be a perfect match. They're already very close friends. However, the moment that sealed it for me was in Dreadnought, when Janeway was going to self-destruct Voyager in the path of the weapon. She ordered everyone off the ship, and Tuvok stayed behind so that Janeway wouldn't be alone.

no way would that work, they are best mates and that's all, besides Tuvok is boring as a mate (not from experience, wink wink, nudge nudge).

Is it something wrong with this poll? I voted for Mark Johnson but it's registered as a vote for Seven Of Nine. :wtf:

Sorry but I'd vote for Chakotay cause he should be on the list as well.To me he's the perfect match for her. Actually if Janeway didn't want him, give him to me, I'll take him off her hands easily! :) But if I had to choose on this list that is given, it would be either Kashyk or Mark Johnson.

Easily Q. I just like the idea, and I think Janeway was intrigued by him even if she didn't want to admit it.

The rest of the choices either don't make sense (like 7, they clearly had a mother/daugher or mentor/student relationship) or are just boring matches. Sorry J/C folks but I consider Chuckles to be a boring match for Janeway as well.

Maybe it'd depend what mood she was in? Eg Mark Johnson on a 'safe' day, Kashyk on a 'temptingly dangerous' day, Q on an 'I need an ego boost by having someone omnipotent fancy me' day, Michael Sullivan on an 'I need sex now with no ties because I can always delete the bloke afterwards' day etc etc :guffaw:

Love the poll!!! :techman: Not going to vote because I don't think any of them are perfect, but am enjoying reading the responses

Oh my, that's one hilarious theory there! :guffaw::guffaw:

Well I can't vote either because I am such a J/Cer lol.

Hmm.... Tom.

This however is the ship that might win. To my knowledge the most popular I think would be Tom, Ayala or Seven. I will admit however that Kashyk has a strong following I just can't see it.

I vote for Jaffen, given what we saw in 'Workforce' - of course the fact that it was originally going to be Chakotay confuses the issue. (And I don't consider myself a shipper of any kind.) However, they were clearly setting up Tom in 'Caretaker' so that might have worked too. I doubt Tuvok would have worked. I can't understand what Janeway saw in Mark. And Kashyk, while interesting, was more of a fling to my thinking.

I just don't get the Janeway and Tom thing at all - maybe I should rewatch Caretaker! Though I've read a couple of fanfics pairing them and I find them very, very funny

My vote would be Chakotay too. However, since this poll is for runners-up I went with Ayala. :D

Chakotay, for sure. While there was fire with Kashyk, he eventually proved to be unworthy of Janeway because of his subterfuge. But Chakotay should have jumped her bones once they returned to the Alpha Quadrant. Even though he's not in the poll, I still stand by that opinion.

But among this group in this poll, I'd have to pick Michael Sullivan, even though he's a hologram. I think he was her spritual and emotional counterpart.

I voted Jaffen because I think Workforce was the first Trek episode ever in which a lead/guest pairing made me go 'aww' and shake my fist at the screen when it was blown out of the water.

Something about them was just right.

Tom is a close runner up, though. Conversation would never be boring...or the spats either.

I voted for 7of9. But it would have to be at a certain point in the series for it to work for me. But I suppose that's true of all the choices.

But I'd have voted for Chakotay if he'd been included.
