Jack's destiny

I think Jack is destined to be the new Jacob, to stay behind when the others leave to return to the outside world by the end of the series and to guard the island for the rest of his greatly extended life like the former Jacob. Esau, who I believe is the Smoke Monster, won't be destroyed by the end of the series but it will be brought back under control with Jack keeping a closer eye and a tighter leash on it.

Kate and Sawyer will get together but not until the series finale and will share some emotional goodbyes with Jack prior leaving.
