Jackill's Rozenzweig Class kitbash

Forbin

Fleet Admiral
Admiral
... with a few changes to suit my preferences and laziness.
Jakill's original concept is here:

My version eliminates the forward pulse-phaser cannons 'cause I didn't feel like making them, moves the hangar deck to the aft of the B/C deck superstructure, and replaces the engines with some resin LN-68s:

Saucer from, of course, the ol' standby Ertl Enterprise.
Secondary hull and pylons, Evergreen sheet plastic.
Torpedo pod from, of course, Ertl Reliant.
Nacelles from Federation Models.
PNT Models saucer-mounted deflector.
Some home-made decals and some JTGraphics decals.
Birdshot for the extra phasers.
Millenium Models (god rest their souls) etched docking hatches.
And yes, the base is pressure-treated deck railing from my scrap pile.

I had a buncha little problems as I went along, so I cursed a lot during the build and I'm not 100% happy with the outcome. and dang, at almost 25" it takes up a LOT of shelfspace!!

Oh yeah - I've decided that starships designed for combat should be done in grays, instead of pearl white.

He announced over at Starship Modeler that business was so bad he decided to close up shop. :(

Just that it's so big once I glued the engines on it was hard to handle, and I kept bumping it on my lamps and cracking putty on the pylon roots.

Also, the aft body makes a natural handle to hold it by, like a tennis racket, and I wore off the damn starfleet pennent decals and had to make more!

Nice work... I usually don't care for most Jackill's designs, but your model makes this one look great! :)

I love your use of the ship's name on the underside of the saucer. I've been privately doing something a bit similar on many of my designs for years.

Nice work as always, forbin. I don't know if I like the placement of the shuttle bay, but other than that, very cool. :techman:
