Spoilers Jack Crusher's "Accelerated Training Program"

Danja

Rear Admiral
Rear Admiral
What grounds did Jack Crusher have for participating in an "accelerated training program"?

Seven of Nine had more grounds to do it than Jack (her expertise with Borg tech, her four years on Voyager, her previous eighteen-year career with the Borg before that).

What special skills does Jack have that would be valuable to Starfleet?

Being alive might be a big bonus to Starfleet after the events of the last 2 episodes.

Jack had a pretty extraordinary record of accomplishment working for Mariposas -- he's an extraordinary intelligent and competent person who's demonstrated on numerous occasions he's tactically adept and capable of marshaling significant leadership skills. Sounds to me like training for a year and then getting a commission as ensign is very reasonable.

Maybe he gained all of Picard’s experience during his brief time in the Collective.

Or nepotism.

After seeing the number of wrecked starships in Earth orbit after the battle, I wouldn't be surprised if the Titan's cook was accepted for an accelerated command track training program.

A death toll between the lost ships and the assimilated killing their crews in the 20,000 range isn't unreasonable

nepotism, and his Borg enhancements probably allowed him to learn stuff like Neo (from The Matrix).

Jack Crusher: "...I know Warp Drive mechanics...";)

She was in Starfleet for a year, maybe less.
According to ENT, Frontier Day should be April 12. "The Stargazer" in Season 2 featured wine bottles labeled 2401, so it's been about three months (we'll have to assume that French wine grapes are now harvested in January, perhaps due to climate change).

Nepotism.

Nepotism enhanced officer candidate school

I mean…pretty much this. Is Seven a good officer, sure. Will Jack be…maybe.

are both of them where they are as full blown command officers instead of inlisted officers (Like Chief O’Brien) because of who they know (Picard and Janeway)…yup. Jack says as much during the shuttle ride.

20,000? I'd expect alot more then that with what happened to Spacedock.
I don't think Spacedock was actually destroyed, when it's shields fail there are a lot of explosions and it sort of rocks back. At this point I think it's essentially offline and out of the fight, but largely intact. It's also there for the final scenes, and I don't think they could rebuild it that quickly.
