Spoilers Jack Crusher and the Prophets?

Unimatrix Q

Commodore
Commodore
Could Jack be a kind of reincarnation of Ben Sisko or the next emissary, considering his visions that he most likely got from the prophets?

No - it's a connection with the intelligence they are inside. They signpost it a number of times in the episode.

Beverley also explains for the benefit of the viewers that his importance is simply to lure Jean-Luc.

Even leaving that aside - the real world problems of having one of the most prominent African-American characters in the series reincarnate as a white man are something they aren't going to touch...

What makes you think he ‘most likely’ got the vision from the Prophets?

The way the scene was orchestrated as well as Seven appearing in it in a similar role as the people the prophets impersonated in Sisko's visions on DS9.

I suppose that’s one interpretation, had the episode not actually already explained that it was the nebula communicating with Jack.

Good point. But could it be possible that instead of being another iteration of a Great Link, like some suggested before, that the nebula is a phenomenon related to the prophets?

I strongly recall Sisko's bajoran mother being possessed by the prophets long before the discovery of the wormhole and as far as i remember no one ever said she ever had contact to an orb.

Unless it has something to do with Picard himself, I’m not seeing that happening. Picard has zero link to the Prophets. If the show was about Sisko, that would be different.

I don't know if Jack's vision has to do with the Nebula or not, I may have missed something while watching the episode. I do know that a couple of the reviewers who have seen the first 6 episodes stated they still did not know what was going on with Jack. Also, a couple reviewers that have seen the whole season have said we won't know what is behind the red door until the end of the season.

On another note: What is up with Bev's kids? Does she just produce magical children? Like first we have Wesley who basically turns into a Time Lord and now her youngest has creepy visions. Can she just not produce normal kids?

And in a twist of fate, Captain Sisko showed up in whatever celestial beings do. Wouldn't that be something?
