IYHO, does a T’Pol cameo in Star Trek XIV make sense?

If the next movie is set in the Kelvin timeline – it doesn’t matter what the story is for Star Trek XIV - T’Pol would only be 165 as of 2263. If she’s the T’Pol that Jolene Blalock wanted to play, maybe she went through kolinar post-Enterprise and purged her emotions. Maybe she followed Surak’s teachings and stayed out of a number of United Earth Starfleet & Federation wars and just refused to use violence even as a captain of a starship. The skintight jumpsuit would be out, and a Federation uniform or Vulcan robes would be in. And, she would be a connection to the prime timeline; anything prior to 2233 is still the prime timeline.

In the reboot series, we’ve already had a reference to Admiral Archer and his beagle (ST ’09), the NX-01 (STID), MACOs, Xindi War, Romulan War, and the Franklin NX-326 which would have been in service during Archer’s time (BEY). Would a cameo role with T’Pol be the next logical step (pun intended)? or should any reference to the ENT area be focused somewhere else? And leave a potential T’Pol appearance to SNW instead?

It's not like the world was ever flooded with Enterprise fans. I don't think there's any need for a T'Pol return, if they could even get Blalock to come back. She hasn't done much in a very long time, and doesn't need to.

To put it another way, ENT, 16 years after it went off the air, is nowhere near as iconic as TNG or TOS. It's had a few callbacks in the Kelvin films early on (the Beagle, the model of the NX-1, etc) because it was the last thing shown most likely, but even Abrams didn't try to necromance anyone's career from that series.

Given the huge number of ENTERPRISE references in Beyond, I assume one of the makers if not many are fans.

I'd cameo her in Strange New Worlds.

Yeah, either that or a Short Trek would seem the most, ahem, logical option. :vulcan:

T'Pol would be close to 300 years old by the time of Lower Decks or PIC, so that's probably out (even Vulcans are unlikely to live that long). And obviously DSC is out of the question.

As for a Kelvin film? Also unlikely. I agree, they should do their own thing.

I just don't see the reason for either Blalock (who has retired, IIRC) or the studio as I don't think the appearance would really sell tickets. I say this as a fan of the T'Pol character.

It would make more sense on Strange New Worlds or one of the animated shows (her future isn't yet written and she could be brought forward in time), though I don't think Blalock would come out of retirement for a cameo on a streaming show. It would have to be something meaty.

Would Blalock need to be cast as T'Pol though?
Why not cast someone else as T'Pol if Blalock wouldn't go for it?

I mean, sure, it would be nice to have Blalock reprise her role as I actually liked T'Pol, but if she's retired and doesn't wish to do it, then nothing stops them from casting someone else and maybe even use CGI to alter the face and age her so she looks reasonably convincing.

Why go through all that for a character that isn’t going to sell tickets?

Its not much of a hassle if they do go for it though.
I was just saying that if T'Pol will make an appearance as part of canon, then it would be simple enough to include the character.

TBF, if the crew would visit New Vulcan once in the movies, we could see if they built a monument to honour her if she did in fact die during Nero’s attack.
It would be nice to see New Vulcan, and the memorial walk to figures like Spock, Sarek and possibly T'Pol. Spock could give Kirk and Uhura a tour as they stop over to escort the New Vulcan ambassador to Coridian Conference, right before a Klingon attack.
