I've been infringed!

This company has ripped off like EVERY SINGLE CGI fan design for years now... IDK why the hell nobody can touch these people, but I see countless people's work offered as wood models on ebay by these douches... IIRC, BorgMan also fell victim to them a while back.

Their "skilled artisans" are probably 5-year old girls who they force into prostitution during the night.

Seeing as their located in the Philippines, short of going over there armed to the teeth Im not sure there's much you can do.

yeah . . . also I have a sneaking suspicion that they havent' actually made or sold any of this particular ship . . . they're using one of my pics for the listing, or else they'd use pics of the model if they had it

I designed the ship. They stole my design.
Which is based on the design from the show. I don't think you have any rights there. It has that big fat nuBSG style written all over if. If they wanted, TPTB could take this for doing a TV episode and wouldn't have to compensate you with anything.

So Syfy or whoever has the copyrights would be the only one able to claim infringements.

I don't think you'd love it if they really did it. ;)

Wasn't there one guy who did a star destroyer that showed up in a SW game cutscene? And some lazy guy at a VFX studio got paid for downloading the model. I really don't think you'd like that.

At least this one takes the effort to create proper wood models. ;)

Write a review in which you make clear that this is your design. Write a blog entry about it. Do a couple of posts on various message boards.

what we do as fan artists is covered under fair use
what this filipino is doing is not fair use

I thought it was a super-star-destroyer CGI model that was used in "Something Something Dark Side" and "It's a Trap!"? I remember someone telling me that one of the guys over at theforce.net was claiming Fox had ripped of his model for the those movies.

From what I remember, around the time of Episode III's release some freelance artist who was hired by Lucasfilm to do a mural/print/something for the Celebration Con then (i think) google searched "star destroyer" and came across Howard Day's "legacy" Star Destroyer I think it was, and used that in his work.

Again, from what I remember Howard or someone managed to get in touch with the artist, and while I think he said he didn't know it was a fan piece and apologized, there was nothing he could do, Lucas owns it all, so it would have been up to them to do anything if at all.

I don't know, 2 guys with baseball bats should do the trick.

"Here's an American bat, finely handmade from kiln-dried maple and skillfully hand-wielded by angry artists"
