itchy legs

My husband & I both suffer from itchy legs (sometimes so much that it hurts). Gold Bond Medicated lotion is a godsend, of you are itching because of dry skin (although it can sting going on - - it really really helps).

Another thing that we use is the drug store generic of Keri Oil in the bath water...be careful using this, tho', becuase it makes the tub very slick.

I find that the itching is more noticeable when I get in bed...and in the winter because of central heating making the house so dry.

You might have too much phosphorous(sp?) in your system. My dad is a dialysis patient and had an itchy leg problem. He takes a medicine called phoslo and avoids foods with large amounts of phosphorous in them.

My back always gets itchy when it's not covered by anthing - literally anything, a towel, water, sand, shirts etc will stop it from itching tho - for a while. I always thought I was the only one with freak itchy problems, that is til I discovered this thread!

That's so weird--I was the same way as a kid; never heard of any body else having that problem. I grew out of it, though.

about the dry itchiness, I can tell the difference between a dry skin itch and something else that's in the skin like a bug bite or something else and it's not dry skin.

the doc is gonna wean me from the effexor s-l-o-w-l-y (withdrawal from effexor sucks ass) to see if that helps. He does think the itching is related to the effexor.
