Is THIS what the Black Smoke Monster is?

These pictures are long exposures of people passing through doorways.

Now that we know time travel is part of the story, could the black smoke monster just be people moving at a different rate through time?

Maybe the smoke monster is some creature that evolves on Earth in the far flung future and travels back in time for whatever reason. This planet still has billions of years on the meter before the Sun runs out of fuel and spoils everything, so the critters that still have a chance to evolve could really boggle the imagination.

Those photos reminded me of those crazy "rod" photos. (Don't worry it's not porn. )

I don't think that that's what it is either, I just thought it was a nice idea. Everything fits except for the fact that the smoke monster looks like a tentacle at times.

That's a very cool photo, but I think the smoke monster is some weird manifestation of the universe "course correcting" all the time travel crap that's happening because of the island.

Of course, it did demand that Ecko repent, and only squashed him when he refused. So who the hell knows?

I just remember an interview where it was mentioned that everything about the island will have a real world kind of explanation. I was thinking, what the heck would explain a smoke monster in the real world? Hehe.
