We still managed to repel the Borg.

The Romulan Supernova is more of a Romulan issue.

The Xindi attack, we managed to stop from executing it's final plan.

The Dominion War was inevitable given the way things were going. There was no good blood-less solution.
BS. If lives lost are the measuring line then why stop with just the Burn?

Because of long term consequences due to certain actions and events.
Which we don't know and can only speculate at. So, they get a pass while the other past lives are simply "Them's the breaks..." But, the Burn-we must fix that or else...!!!!

As I said, it's a general irritation at time travel in general because it opens up this host of issues. Now it's cherry picking who gets saved for what. You might be right about DTI. But, don't expect me to agree or trust them with regards to their decisions, especially regarding beings dying.

What exactly does the DTI do? I’m struggling to recall the scope of their power and ability. They just interview people and file reports, yes?

It struck me as very much a bureaucracy but the scope of their power seems to be to interview and sanction if the Temporal Prime Directive was violated.

They're the only 24th Century books I read. I prefer the 22nd and 23rd Centuries for my Beta Canon.
