The Doctor gets his original TARDIS back in Happy Endings.
And the best massage EVER.
The Doctor gets his original TARDIS back in Happy Endings.
I would have exploded in a flashback of watching Peter Davison float in the dead of space with a helmet and high-tops. That's the first time I flipped Doctor Who off.![]()
It's just my personal neurosis.

There is no canon in Doctor Who.Answer is, they don't. For me, and many others, the novels don't exist and are not part of the shows canon.
I'll post it every single time.^I wonder how many times that link will be posted in discussions like these?![]()
And no one else is, which is the point.Agree with his take, or not, Cornell's just a random writer that's done a couple of stories for the show. He is of very little authority to speak on such matters.
The attitude DW has towards continuity is such that one could see, openly and blatantly, the TARDIS blown into a billion pieces, and in the very next episode it would be back together again, and no one would notice or care.![]()
well honestly, I was more a fan of the original Doors.. the ones that had the bulky doors close to protect the interior from the exterior.. it seemed more appropriate to me that there was an airlock between the outer matter-construct, and the Interior Dimensional Ship..
the fact that they removed those doors, and just went with the inside of the police box door seems rather silly to me.. but then again, I was under the impression that RTD mentioned something about the ship having to be regrown..
which I could accept, I suppose.. but the Tardis seemed more conventional and ancient with those big roundel doors..
the air corridor, and air pocket around the outside of the Tardis does make it seem like the ship is quite magical and higher tech then what we saw previously.. but I guess the scientist aspect of the ship is out, in favor of rambling science mumbo jumbo and sleek and shinny..
While I like the new series, there is just something lost from the "Hartnell-Tardis era".. the extra scientific machines, the food dispenser, and the strap in couches of the original Tardis made you feel as if the ship was indeed built and made as an exploratory machine, and seemed more possible..
now they have gone off on some crazy science and made the ship so much more fantasy, then conventional science.. with self repairing, the coral grown bits, the rooms that just appear and disappear, and so on..
the old Hartnell Tardis made you feel as if the Technology were somehow possible.. this new ship seems like Willy Wonka's Ship in space..
only there's no chocolate..![]()
