Is Susan the Master?

You have to wonder if the Doctor was getting dotty, what with being so dang close to that bodies natural expiry date, the he was making really bad calls which he would otherwise think were boners. besides, I've often mentioned that the Daleks reversed their loss in Dalek invasion of earth of earth "with Time travel" in day of the Daleks which means that Susan was left on Earth to face a NEW Dalek invasion in a briefly dominant timeline... So there was no happily ever after for that Susan.

Was there any other other companion apart from Adam he locked out on a strange alien vista and just ran from? And even then he had the decency to dump that idjit in his mums flat in the right era... Sarah-Jane? Adrik?

I wonder why Ace left?

I think it's obvious that when the Daleks changed the timeline, the horrors she was left to face on her own warped Susan into the Master. It explains where she/he got the goatee, as well, coming from an "evil" alternate timeline.

The real question is, when did the Rani and the Doctor get their divorce? I mean, have you seen the way he acts towards her? She's just trying to do her job...her science thing...and he's all up in her business, making demands, abusing her. It's more than obvious she's The Doc's ex-wife, and probably Susan/The Master's grandmother (which would also explain why she felt it okay to knee him in the knads in Mark of the Rani....talk about a disapproving parent)...

There was an audio where Bernice Summerfield, a companion of 7, sees a future vision of the Doctor as 8. She licks her lips, and infers that he should hurry up and regenerate.
That was in The Dark Flame, wasn't it?

Yes, I do think Benny liked the eighth Doctor's body more than the seventh's. Especially considering they get it on in The Dying Days. :)

I'd love to read Lance Parkin's short story about the eight Doctor and Benny, travelling through time and space like Steed and Peel and making like bunnies every chance they get.

Doctor/companion sexual relationships turn me off in a big way, implied, angst or otherwise. The old show was never like that and all the better for it..

You mean apart from how Tom and Lalla would still be rank from coitus in their dressing room as he's rattling off BBC Phone Number extensions and she's petting K9? Their actual and real relationship did spice up the chemistry between Doctor and Companion quite unusually.

Kate and 8 however makes me sour too, but then I think it is vomitous when a couples names rhyme.

I gathered someone would bring that up - Romana was/is a TimeLord, so it wasn't so immediately implausable or sickening. Other pairings seem forced, hackneyed and nauseating.

Really, you don't need that kind of thing for a show (any show) to be interesting. Two (or more) people can share a TARDIS purely on the basis of a mentor/student, friends or even father/daughter type relationship without it devolving into a romantic affair. Moreover, you'd think ( or at least I'd like to) that an alien being of immense intellect and age and supposed god-like mental constitution could keep his sights on the straight and narrow where the lesser species are concerned.

The old show was never the kind of show to really stray from that, but yes Romana is an exception for the rather obvious reasons I outlined above..

Why? I think it makes for a program that's wonderfully romantic.

You're allowed to by all means - I just happen to think it makes for a pathetic, hackneyed vomit-fest..

I wasn't saying it was a good thing, and there's no certainty that anything happened between the Doctor and Romana, I only meant that their natural "love" shone through now and then by accident. But then telepaths probably don't make love physically as often as they do psychically... And we know that relative perception is compacted somewhat from when we've seen theses people link and say "contact" that they could have the memories of hours of excellent and fulfilling intercourse constructed in just a few seconds.

In the fan comic the 10 doctors, Romana gets hurt a touch after the turn of the millennium, and taken to Kate's Hospital who assumes that the doctor has just altered his form again since who else has two hearts? Romana woke up half way through a snog.

Rose and 9 was just horrendous.

It was so out of the Doctor's wheel house to pander with one of these monkeys that when that Dalek told me that they were in love I tossed my toys in outrage. It was just ridiculous. But then what did Rose know about feeling the nature of a relationship considering that Mickey and Jaquie were playing hide the pickle when ever her back was turned.
