Spoilers Is Picard series 2 a sequel to Quantum Leap and Enterprise?

I’m sure that most of us have watched the two Star Trek spin off series Enterprise and Quantum Leap. When Scott Bakula unofficially reprised his roll as Sam Becket in the guise of Captain Jonathan Archer he was heavily involved in a time war which spanned centuries. This time war was never resolved and one of the main villains (the mystery future guy in the shadows communicating from the future). Could this ‘Future Guy’ have been Q in disguise? Manipulating the past and future as part of a time war…. a war that as humanity evolves will turn in to a civil war within the Q (Quantum) Continuum?

Maybe Scott Bakula will pop up in one of his Sam Becket guises in this series whilst our motley crew of heroes are back on Earth? It would make for an interesting cameo or significant role either way.

But is it actually Earth that we are visiting in this series of Picard? Could this all be a visual representation of part of the civil war in the Q Continuum, in a similar vein as to how Q once showed a representation of this civil war to Captain Janeway through the understandable to humans lens of the American Civil war?

Does Jonathan Archer need to resolve the time war? Does Sam Becket need to make one final leap? Will Picard and Seven if Nine be enough? Is ‘Future Guy’ actually Q all along?

Why would any Q need to be Future Guy when they can appear in any time period in any universe at will?

And I don’t know about a Sam Beckett appearance, since the Quantum Leap reboot is NBC. But isn’t there a better chance we see Bakula’s NCIS: New Orleans character makes a cameo, since both the NCIS franchise and Star Trek franchise are under the CBS/Paramount+ umbrella?

We don’t know how Jonathan Archer fits, if he fits at all. Although presumably, in the Confederation timeline, he wasn’t doublecrossed by Hoshi as in the mirror universe (or she did, but failed this time) and he was a Confederation leader. But the Federation doesn’t happen without him, so does he even exist in the Confederation timeline to begin with?

2024 being a representation of the Q Continuum would be quite a plot twist. But what would Q need from Rios, Seven, Raffi, Jurati & Elnor? His focus has mainly been on Picard.

Taking Picard’s motley crew to the Q continuum levels the playing field. Hence Q loosing his click.

future guy could be Q in a level playing field future representation of the Q continuum using time as a weapon instead of guns, swords or phasers?

…and I don’t understand the politics of American TV networks sorry!

Well, that makes more sense. Considering Raffi’s line referring to 2024 as paradoxical and as before everything falls part, it would make sense that 2024 is the setting used by the Continuum is there is a pending crisis they are facing.

But the playing field being level for Q and humans in the 28th century when it comes to time travel is something not discussed in regards to Future Guy. No one has ever gone into how Starfleet developing timeships affect future interactions with the Q.

Its just unlikely for there to be a Star Trek-Quantum Leap crossover, unless the execs know something we don’t. There were once talks of a Star Trek-Doctor Who crossover before, after all. You might be right, and Sam Beckett might leap into the body of Archer someday.
