Fun story about that particular plotline - the whole bit about the "Murmansk Brushing Incident" in the final cut of Down Periscope was added in post. The shooting script has Admiral Graham hating Captain Dodge's guts because he supposedly slept with his wife... which is how he knows about the tattoo.
Even the mention from Rob Schneider's character about "the weenie tattoo" earlier in the movie was an overdub. Originally, he was mentioning Dodge schtupping the Admiral's wife.

He was one of my favourites too - think it was a 1a and 1b situation with him and Bashir which is kind of fitting (although at 8 when I first watched it I had no idea of the underlying story between them!)

Star Trek is actually helping my therapy! I had my first EMDR last Monday and what I revisited in terms of deep and old trauma grounded me when I remembered Benjamin and his first encounter with the Prophets. "I exist here."
I explained it to me therapist and he was kinda gobsmacked how that worked and connected.
Deep Space Nine is and always be the ultimate Star Trek for me.
It is very good, but my heart will always be with the original Star Trek.
