Is Enterprise anyone else's favourite trek?

DS9 and TNG are both my absolute faves. TOS fits in underneath, then there's ENT and VOY. VOY was the only Trek I watched as it aired, so I have a special fondness for it. ENT's third and, to some extent, fourth seasons nudge it ahead of VOY though. When I watched The Expanse arc I felt like I hadn't been so gripped by Trek since I finished DS9 nearly 10 years ago, which was cool.

I will probably be flamed but it is mine.

At this point, I think it's fair to ask what other Trek series you have seen and to what degree of completeness.

Sorry for the late reply.

I have seen All of the TNG era trek's except the odd episode here and there, I haven't seen much of TOS as it was before my time, however I have seen all the movies. I just liked all the characters in Enterprise a lot. somehow I just found it a better show, just my opinion and I know there are not many who will share my view.

TOS is my all time favorite #1 series (it's the one I grew up with and saw first run on NBC at age 6); BUT ENT is firmly my #2 favorite Star Trek series; and the ONLY one of the modern Star Trek series to (for me) recapture some of the elements that made TOS so good.

And as far as continuity/canon gaffs - ENT has surprisely few if you actually WATCHED TOS and didn't just rely on a lot of 'fannon' assumptions regarding the pre-TOS era.

FYI - my #3 favorite series is TAS; #4 DS9; #5 TNG; and sorry but I gave up on VOY entirely after watching the crapfest episode 'The 37's' (Amelia Earhart kidnapped by aliens; and NONE of the Maqui crew members - all facing icarceration if/when they return don't want to remain on an Earthlike colony with near 24th century tech - spare me).

But I really did enjoy ENT, and I'm really said it got the shorty shaft because of the politics of UPN and Paramount in 2005. The writing was as good or better than the rest of the 'modern' Star Trek series; and the cast had an honest on-screen chemistry that I hadn't seen since TOS.

After TOS, Enterprise has my favorite cast. I wasn't crazy about some of the directions the show took with the characters, but at the outset they were all very enjoyable for me. It was the casts likeability that made weaker episodes far more pleasent for me than the other Treks.

One of my (many) problems with TNG was I never gave a rats for any of the characters. Okay I admire Picard and First Contact is still one of my favorite all time films.. but the rest of them just bored me to death.

Data=BIGYAWN.

Deanna=PLEASE stop talking!!

Geordie=Who?

Crusher=Nice Hair

ENT, I've enjoyed the characters who got airtime immensely. T'Pol is a fascinatingly flawed Vulcan I never tire of.

Phlox, well I just watched Regeneration and his acting was great in that, his sheer helpless terror as he gets into the medical tube to try and destroy the nanoprobles ravaging him. Lots of background on Denobulans, some personal things about Phlox's family, seeing one of his wives, his ever-dapper personality..

Reed was a great character too, his work devotion and negativity and introverted ways.. he was very realistic.

And Trip.. well as the series moves forward he becomes a very interesting character indeed.

Each rewatching of ENT renews my appreciation of it. I think the whole "first time out this far, hot damn a discovery!" and their unfamiliarity with how to approach some things was very well done. I think they achieved that feeling they wanted to convey in the first two seasons.

Plus the whole series looks GREAT. Very sharp. I love the greyness of the ship. I love the jumpsuits, I think they did a great job moving away from the TNG-Hilton criticisms.
