Is Chakotay dead ?

We have all seen the trailer were Seven is upset and holding the body of a man that looks like it could be him. It would be cold to kill a regular just using a body double but we are living in a Admiral Ackbar sucked into space offscreen world so who knows. I think the answer is yes but we will see Beltran with a cameo. Jason

I have gone back and watched it several times and freeze framing it, and I'm 98% sure it's Hugh

 

Would be a fitting fate since Beltran always hated Voyager and anything Star Trek related. Killing his character in a random freak accident would level out the Trek universe and avenge the death of Tasha Yar.

 

Can't be Chakotay that Seven is holding because his hair is not all gray/white like Robert Beltran hair is now.

 

Unless it's a flashback.

 

As I said elsewhere, Hugh does look weirdly like a younger Chakotay (well, younger than Beltran is now) in the couple shots we see in this trailer, so I could see the confusion.

Perfectly understandable.

 

He's had nothing good to say about the experience, but given he agreed to appear in Renegades: Requiem, I'm pretty sure he'd reprise his character for some cold hard cash.

 

I thought it was the bearded captain that also appears in the trailer. The hair looked the same to me.

I mentioned it in the other thread, but I personally don't think so. The (assumed) deceased is wearing red, and both the Romulan prisoners and Androids are wearing red jumpsuits. Meanwhile, when Hugh is seen in the trailer, he's wearing what appears to be the guard uniform.

 

I'd say no, just because I doubt anyone involved with the show remembers that the character existed.

 

The hair doesn't look right for Jonathan del Arco, but I find it hard to believe it's Chakotay.

 

I'm sure Jeri Ryan remembers.

 

We don't even know if that character is really dead in the scene, or if those are tears of sorrow or joy from Seven. It's a very short clip.
