It boils down to a series of dry one act plays, staring usually 2 actors, set in a space light house.

Series one started with a heist, then it's abut aliens, then it's about evil corporations, then AI millionaires, then the government, then the military, then the rebel alliance, but all along they can't figure out if they are telling stories in the past, present or future.

Oh! Beacon 23 is The Wire, in Space?

Regardless, it's either a mess, or genius.

Just started watching this. Not sure if I’ll stick to it but it does have Lena Headey, so worth a few episodes before deciding.
